Accepting your invite
You can only get into Barry after someone on your team has invited you. The invite arrives by email.
- Open the link in your invite email. You'll see a page called Welcome to the team.
- Select Accept invite.
- Choose a password (at least 8 characters), type it again to confirm, then select Set password and continue.
- Log in with your email and your new password.
If your invite email is for a Google account, you can skip the password and use Continue with Google on the login page instead.
Logging in
- Go to the Admin Login page.
- Enter your email and password, then select Log In. Or select Continue with Google.
- You'll land on Select an event.
Two-factor login
Every account that logs in with a password needs an authenticator app, to keep volunteer records secure. If you log in with Google, Barry doesn't ask for a code, because Google handles two-factor for your account.
The first time you log in with a password, Barry shows Set up two-factor login:
- Open an authenticator app on your phone (for example Google Authenticator, Authy or 1Password) and scan the QR code. If you can't scan it, type the code shown under it into your app instead. It appears in your app as Barry Volunteers, with your email address.
- Type the 6-digit code your app shows, then select Confirm and continue.
After that, every time you log in with a password Barry shows Verify it's you. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app and select Verify.
Being logged out when you're away
If Barry isn't used for an hour (no clicks, typing or scrolling in any Barry tab), Barry logs you out to keep volunteer records safe. Front Desk Check-In allows four hours, because it's often left open between busy times, and while it's open your other Barry tabs allow four hours too. When this happens, the login page tells you why. Log in again with your password and 6-digit code to carry on.
If you're stuck
Forgot your password? Select Forgot your password? on the login page, enter your email and select Send reset link. Open the link in the email and select Continue. If you log in with a password, Barry asks for the 6-digit code from your authenticator app first: type it and select Verify. Then choose a new password and select Set new password. Then log in with your new password.
Code not accepted? If Barry says That code didn't work, use the newest code, because codes change every 30 seconds. If it still doesn't work, make sure your phone's date and time are set to update automatically (in Settings, under Date & Time). The codes rely on your phone's clock being exactly right.
Can't find your code? You set up an authenticator the first time you logged in. Check each authenticator app on your phone for an entry called Barry Volunteers, or one with your email address. On an iPhone, also check the Passwords app. If you scanned the QR code with your iPhone's camera, your code may have been saved there instead of in an authenticator app. An entry set up before November 2026 may not be called Barry Volunteers, so look for your email address instead. If someone helped you set it up, it may be on their device. Lost your authenticator app or changed phones? There are no backup codes, so ask a Super User in your organisation to reset your two-factor login. The next time you log in, Barry will ask you to set it up again.
